Hi guys!
We're responsible for a bunch of Server 2022 RDS servers that were set up with a particular base image from a third party. Turns out, this image was flawed: None of these Servers are updateable; they're stuck on 20348.320. According to this build number, the last successfully installed CU is KB5006745 from late 2021 (which is visible in the update history, but trying to uninstall it ends in a failure)
I tried to install several CUs between now and 2021 (via download from the Update Catalog), but all of them fail repeatedly. Running "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" or renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder didn't change the outcome.
The "Setup" Event Log shows the error 2148469122 which is 0x800F0982.
The attached log files are from a fresh attempt to install the April 2024 CU KB5036909. The Log files were deleted right before.
Can anyone help us out?
