Last Friday my wife tried to get to Word in Office 2010 and got the following "Microsoft Word Starter 2010 Cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in Control Panel". I clicked on Click-to-Run Application Manager and got a screen pointing to the issue. There was a GREEN check mark and the word DONE. It fixed nothing. sftlist and sftvsa are running in Task Manager.
I then went to EVENT LOG and found the message "The client was unable to connect to an application Virtualization Server.
rc:16001E0A-00001D1"
My wife only uses the HP S5-1110 with Windows Home Premium 64bit for Word, E-Mail and picture storage.
I cleaned up space and ran Malwarebytes and Security Essentials with no luck.
I have not installed Windows Updates for a long time because of issues identified by PATCH LADY at AskWoody.
I plan on going there and identifying those KB's not installed to see if any of them should be tried. There are 4 for Office 2010, but if I can't start it I am concerned about the UPDATE function.
Where can I go from here?

Her machine is an HP which came with Office 2010 installed. I don't have any disks and in fact I can't find the Windows Office 2010 product key. I am going to look in the HP D: and Register in hopes it is there.

In looking around, I found an article that suggests Disabling Click-To-Run in services.msc. Is it possible this has hung up Office 2010? Can HP Recovery re-install Office 2010 without messing up Windows 7? Another article suggests uninstalling 2010 and somehow re-installing it. Again, I have no media only the HP D: .

The only way to test it is to try it on the computer.

More Weird. services.msc and TaskManager fail to show Click-to-Run. Neither Running or Stopped. When I get a chance, I am going to locate it and activate it to see what happens. Right now she has WordPad so this is my confusion.
