Hi, we are getting an issue where our server is not doing updates properly and to try and resolve this I am doing an SFC scan which consistently hangs at 24%, even after reboots, chkdsk etc.

I have come across this web site and believe there may be some lovely people that might help get to the bottom of this!

I have run SFCFix but it crashes as follows - I am looking for guidance and a fix will result in a donation!

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.

Microsoft Windows Server 10 Build 14393 - amd64

I understand the CBS logs may help. Before I upload them is there anything sensitive or identifiable need to purge from them? e.g. server names, IP, domains etc?
Also - do I only need to upload the latest cbs.log?

No, any information which we publicly ask for will not have any sensitive or identifiable information. If we do require information which may contain that information, we'll ask for you to send it to us via PM.

Also - do I only need to upload the latest cbs.log?
The entire CBS log folder is preferable as the older logs may contain more context to your error(s).

SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

HI - thanks for your help. The SFC /scannow completed with no issues so I am going to reboot that server tonight and retry updates - will let you know how it goes.

Okay no problem, if the updates fail, then please provide the CBS log has you did before.

Thanks very much - this was the fix and our SFC scans are now running fine.... donation made :-)
