I have Logitech keyboard (G510) and ever since doing the windows 8.1 update 1 my keyboard number lock is deactivated on every start up and reboot. I really didn't pay it any mind...just hit the number lock key, type in my MS login username/password and all is well. Well I finally decided to do something about it....I uninstalled the driver and downloaded what appears to be an updated driver (8.51 to 8.53) and a quick reboot and all works as it should. So for anybody else running one of these keyboards, getting the latest driver fixes it.

That is really odd (at least I have not seen it before - so odd to me) because the initial Numlock setting after boot is a BIOS Setup Menu setting. So the keyboard software must have been switching it back for some reason. Anyway, I am glad you got it sorted out and thanks for the tip.

Do you like that keyboard? It looks HUGE! And the successor to that model, the G510s is even bigger! Oddly enough, neither Newegg or Logitech state the dimensions in the specs. :( I finally found them on Amazon and these keyboards are 20.9" wide. That would be a problem for me as my current keyboard, at 18" wide is already as wide as I would want to go and still have sufficient maneuvering room for the rodent on my slide-out keyboard "tray".

Yeah...it's a bit big, but it's a gaming keyboard and w/arm rest attached it's really wide. TBH, I got it for 2 reasons and don't laugh as I call one of them the bling factor (blue LED's) then of course the gaming aspect. It's more than I'll ever need in a keyboard. I'm thinking of going to the Roccat brand with their top of the line keyboard...it even has a dual chip in it. Also going to get the Kone XTD mouse.

Hey Dig....just out of curiosity, where can I find that in my BIOS. I just had a look and couldn't see anything that was remotely close to a number lock setting. My mobo is quite old, Gigabyte S sereis GA-MA790X-DS4

It depends on your particular system. With this Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H, it is called "Bootup NumLock State" and is located under the BIOS Features submenu.

Hmmm, I just downloaded your manual and don't see that in there - which I find as very odd. I cannot ever remember not being able to set that feature in the BIOS.

I did find this: How to Change the Default Numlock State: 8 Steps - wikiHow
