A pretty simple tip. To launch a program pinned to the taskbar from your keyboard, press the Windows Key + the number that the taskbar shortcut is assigned to.
The taskbar shortcuts are assigned a number from left to right. On my taskbar, I have Edge, the Windows store icon, file explorer, command prompt, etc. from left to right. I would press the Windows Key + 1 to open Edge, Windows Key + 2 to open the Windows store, etc.

Here's an article with more taskbar tips and tricks: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/windows-10-taskbar-keyboard-shortcuts/

The same way works in KDE at least in Plasma 5.9.5 - uf you have an earlier version of Plasma you can set it probably in Global keyboard shortcuts -> Plasma
I use alt + j, alt + k, alt + l etc. as an alternative keyboard shortcuts - in Plasma you can have 2 for each thing.
