  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Afterwards reboot the system and attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

Ran SFCFix and rebooted PC. it hung up for 20 odd minutes saying it was working on updates but with no progress, so I hard rebooted. Went into windows update and ran updates, but the same update failed again.

Please be patient when the update process is still running even when it looks like there's no progress, and a forced reboot of the system will not help to resolve this issue.

So please attempt to update again and wait until an error message appears or the update will rollback itself.

Ok, so the SFCFix is actually applying updates? It looked like it was stuck as there was no progress indicator and this was a user PC during the work day so I'll have to try to run it again after hours.

failed again, not sure if it matters, but the update KB has changed because of the later version coming out so it's still failing but showing KB5037768 2024-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems
