[SOLVED] KB5001716 Failed to install

Hi all, last 2 days Windows has tried to install KB5001716 and fails with 0x80070643 I did try the latest servicing stack update "2021-08 Servicing Stack Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5005260)" as reccomended in the update suppoort page restarted but it made no difference.

PC seems to be working fine without the update but my OCD is drawn to the error ;)

any help would be welcome.

problem now appears to have gone away on it's own, so maybe just a MS issue.

This can be marked as solved now.
 
Hi,

Yes, an older version of KB5001716 from October last year was causing this issue, and it seems Microsoft has now revoked this update so it is not being rolled out again. Yesterday I've written an article for this update, but was not published yet. Here's the Dutch version: KB5001716 mislukt met foutcode 0x80070643 - Computerforum PC Web Plus
