Hello. Windows Server 2016 Standard has not been updated for a long time. At the moment, the KB4550947 update is being cycled, which is installed successfully, but then reappears in the list of necessary updates and so on in a circle. Further updates do not appear in the list at all.

SFC Results:
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
The system scan has started. This process may take some time.

The beginning of the verification stage when scanning the system.
The verification is 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not detect any integrity violations.

DISM cannot restore components with error 0x800f081f. When specifying the W2016 distribution as the source, the same error 0x800f081f occurs.

Yes, please attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

The same situation - offers the same updates again:

PowerShell 7.4.1
PS C:\Users\Администратор.WIN-FPFQITTP3OT> Get-WindowsUpdate

ComputerName Status KB Size Title
------------ ------ -- ---- -----
SERVUMK -D----- KB4550947 1GB Cumulative update for Windows Server 2016 for processor-based systems…

PS C:\Users\Администратор.WIN-FPFQITTP3OT>

CBS archive are attached.

The ZIP-file does not contain the latest CBS.log, only the older CbsPersist logs.

Export the Windows Update log
  • Right-click on the Start button and click Windows PowerShell (Admin).
  • Copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards
Code:
Get-WindowsUpdateLog
  • Wait for the message "WindowsUpdate.log written to C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.log".
  • Attach the logfile WindowsUpdate.log to your next reply.

Please run the following command in an elevated prompt and copy the result in your next post.
Code:
reg query "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" /s

PS C:\Windows\System32> reg query "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" /s

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
AUOptions REG_DWORD 0x3

Run the following commands in an elevated prompt.
Code:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv
net start bits
Afterwards attempt to update again.

I did it. The update status has changed - there is no letter D

PS C:\Windows\System32> Get-WindowsUpdate
