Hello,

I am running Windows 7 and suddenly cannot install security rollup updates due to the following 8024200D error.
I have tried searching many forums but resetting Windows Update services and components isn't getting me anywhere. Any help is appreciated!

Thank you.

Sorry, should have looked more carefully at the guidelines before posting.
SFC found no problems, SURT completed successfully and SFCFix didn't find anything. I have included a Dropbox link to the zipped CBS log folder.

CBS.zip

Thank you in advance! I have spent so much time trying to figure this out...

Hello and welcome!

Install Update with DISM

  1. Download this update and save to your desktop. The file name will be Windows6.1-KB4516065-x64.cab.zip.
  2. Right-click on this file and select Extract All... Click the Extract button. You can close the folder window that opens
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
  5. Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB4516065-x64.cab
  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.

Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log

Note: If you get the message that no packages that require processing were found, use the following command instead:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB4516065-x64.cab\Windows6.1-KB4516065-x64.cab

Let me know if successful and attach CBS.log if it fails.

If successful, please install the update that failed previously.

Thank you.

I assume I must be making a small mistake. I tried from both the desktop and placing the cab folder at the root of C:
I've attached the DISM log. I get error 87 about not recognizing a command-line option despite copying and pasting.

Unfortunately that didn't seem to do the trick either.

The msu package was successful and KB4519976 is now properly installed. Thank you so much! I thought I'd have to resort to an in-place install.
