Hello experts! KB4474419 won't be installed on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit. I have used "msconfig" to boot clean as much as possible and run Windows Update, but after the reboot it says something like "Failure Configuring Windows Updates Reverting Changes". I have run script/batch to reset services and delete files in "SoftwareDistribution" folder. And I have manually download it KB but did not install. Please help me. And please see CAB log files at below. Thank you very much!
Filebin :: bin bihoe7msc5va2ab6

Hello and welcome!

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named writhziden. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Hello, and welcome to the forums. If you are okay going forward and working with me, I will be happy to assist with your update error.

It appears that you may have an issue with the partition that your boot manager resides on. Please follow the steps below to provide us with a screenshot of your Disk Management window. We will need to see all partitions on the system, so if you need to take multiple screenshots and scroll down/up to provide everything necessary, please do so.

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type DiskMgmt.msc into the search box
    uc
  3. Click on the DiskMgmt program listed to open the Disk Management window.
  4. Click the Start button.
  5. Type Snipping Tool into the Search box.
    uc
  6. Open the Snipping Tool program
  7. Use the snipping tool to select the area within the Disk Management window. Your output should look similar to below:
    uc
  8. Save your snip file(s) to the desktop as DiskMgmt.png, DiskMgmt(1).png, DiskMgmt(2).png, etc.
  9. Compress the files using Zip and unzip files as a guide (you can select multiple files and right click one of the selected files to add all to a compressed zip file)
  10. Attach your snips .zip file to your next post.

Hello writhziden, Thank you very much for your help. Here's screenshot of Disk Management. I remember that I had to shrink partitions when I replaced HDD to SSD. I will try to expand the very first partition which shows 24MB. It says 100% free, but I guess it would want a lot more. I will post the result tomorrow. Thank you again!

Sounds like a good plan. The default System Reserved size in Windows 7 is 100 MB, but feel free to resize as large as 500 MB if you want to make sure these issues do not occur again in the future.

Before you start resizing partitions, I would also strongly encourage you to create a backup of your important files, or better yet, create a system image of the current partition layout: Back up and restore your PC

I also noticed that your current System Reserved 24 GB space is not formatted. You will need to create an NTFS volume labeled System Reserved between 100 MB and 500 MB as mentioned above.

Thank you very much! I backed up and resize partitions, now I am back in business! Thanks again for wonderful advices!
