I am running into a problem on a laptop that KB3139940 update constantly fails every time the pc boots. I ran sfcfix and it fixed 140 of 200 errors, will upload cbs.log in a few hours. Is anyone else having this issue with this update. For now I hid the update but would like to get to the cause of this without reinstalling Windows 7. Another problem is WUSA won't uninstall certain nagware updates by batch file. Any ideas? thank you guys!

zcomputerwiz,
I am sorry that it took so long to get back with you. I ran into a problem with System Update Readiness Tool, then I found out, any program needing the Windows Installer would fail with "element not found", the last straw was "Programs and Features" / "Turn Windows features on or off" wouldn't populate, just a blank screen. The client wanted and needed the system repaired, so I did a Windows repair with over 300 updates that took a long time as MS seems to have slowed down the updating for Windows 7. The system is finally stable and fast. I think someone might have run a registry cleaner that went bad. I appreciate your help and will try to return help for others here. Have a good day!
