Hello ... I've tried to apply the SUBJ KB's manually and they fail regularly. I've run SFCFix which (initially) found correctable problems and now runs without any errors.
However, these patches will not apply and, although I've had a look at the CBS outputs, I don't want to attempt to make changes without proper guidance as I don't do this every day.
From what I can tell there are a number of patches which don't seem to be correctly applied. Since I "inherited" this machine, I have cleaned it of all malware and other extraneous junk.
SFC /SCANNOW shows errors but they all appear to be "desktop.ini" files that can't be repaired from themes which I don't care about.
I must be missing something so would appreciate your assistance.
