Hi there,

I'm facing the same problem like many others: I can't install this (and several other) updates. It seems to start installing, then after a restart a rollback is initiated whit a statement: "Undoing changes... etc."

Could you help me please? Thanks in advance!

SFC Scan

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  2. Type cmd in the search box, and then right-click or press and hold on Command Prompt.
  3. Tap or click Run as administrator.
  4. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  5. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

I don't see anything obvious. Try installing the update again and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log after the failure and rollback.

Code:
base\appmodel\inboxappinstallerai\appxreg.cpp(87): Error HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(1058) originated in function Windows::WCP::AppXRegistration::BasicInstaller::Install expression: RDSAppXOnlineNotifyPackageChanges( APPCHANGETYPE_INBOX)

Have you disabled any Windows Services such as the App Readiness Service?

Open the Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, then Services.

In the list, look for the AppX Deployment Service and App Readiness.
To the right, it should show the startup type for each. If the startup type is Manual, then the services are not disabled.

I'd like to check if the services are failing to start.
Download and run MiniToolBox here: MiniToolBox Download
Check the box for last 10 eventvwr errors and click GO.

Copy and paste the results with your reply.

Hi,

the App Readiness was Disabled, but I was able to put it in Manual mode and then start it.
Funny thing is, that suddenly the mentioned update disappeared from the list, and offers only the Windows 10 update (upgrade). This won't be a problem, since my original intention was to install Windoes 10...

So what should I do...? Would it be a problem to installe Win10 in this state?

Btw, here is the MiniToolBox log:

Hi,

I'm back :)
After a short pause, a finally got the chance to upgrade to Win10, and it was successfull! So although the core reason of the Update error is still a mistery to me (was it the disabled service?!), but my problem has been solved.
Thank you for the support!

Best,
J

It was the disabled service.

I'm glad everything worked for you :thumbsup2:

I'll mark the thread as solved, please post back if you encounter any problems.
