Hello,

I built a PC 3 weeks ago, with only ONE nagging persistent problem: the audio crackles via hdmi. For weeks I figured it was a hardware issue, evga told me to try everything from a different cable to a different tv to a different mobo.

Well, here is my problem:

Here are my specs:
EVGA GTX 780 3gig
Asus Z97-A mobo
i5-4670k
Win 8.1 64 bit

I've asked for help everywhere, from EVGA to geforce to forums to EVERYWHERE. I *NEED* a solution to this. I just realized the issue was latency and not hardware, so after googling terms having to do with latency, I found this forum, and the poster name TomasD who has answered several of these. Using latencyMon, I have found that the culprits are dxgkrnl.sys and nvlddmkm.sys.

I see that Tomas asks for files using a windows performance analyzer. I downloaded this, and did as he said in other posts, and compressed it. I don't know where is the best place to upload this though, drop box is asking me for his email in order to share with him. Perhaps someone could clarify what's the best way to share?

Thanks

Just a few extra specifications:

When I remove the gpu and attach the hdmi to the Mobo, the issue disappears. I only have this issue when I use the Gtx. That said, I did try the gpu in another system with the same cable and the same tv, and there was no problem.

I am currently completely reinstalling windows, and I plan to install one driver at a time. I am really hoping Mr. TomasD sees this by tomorrow.

I had to LOL when I saw the title to this thread because I joined for the same exact reason. I had the same problem as you with the two .sys files, except I wasn't using HDMI. For what it's worth after reading many forums on this issue, I saw people mention turning off energy saving features in your BIOS. I didn't realize they were referring to the processor energy saving features. I turned those off in my BIOS and the latency dropped to less than 10 the majority of the time and the crackling was gone. The thread on this board where my problem was is here: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-8-|-windows-rt/10269-sound-crackling-windows-8-1-a.html

I have an EVGA card as well:

EVGA FTW Edition w/ EVGA ACX Cooler NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780
Intel i7-4930k
Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
GIGABYTE X79-UP4 motherboard

If, while you're waiting for him to respond. It might be worth giving this a shot. Good luck.

Well that's a cool title for a topic :smile9:

I checked your XPERF trace and I see that ISRs on your computer are quite high, reaching 2.5% of duration at some points, while 0.5% is something to be considered as normal:

As you can see in the screenshot above, we have multiple drivers exceeding the threshold.

For starters, could you please download and install the latest PROWinx64 driver and set High Performance plan in Windows? Once done, if the issue persists, please generate a new trace, as well as provide Sysnative jcgriff2 BSOD File Collection app, to have more information about your system.

Thank you.
