Ok. So I'm curious..
What are the benefits for Jailbreaking an iPhone/iPad, and Rooting(replacing Bootloader/ROM). Whats the biggest benefit of it all?
Also, evasion released their iOS 7.x.x release.

Ah, now where do I begin?

I used to have a rooted HTC Wildfire running CM7 and loved it - it was also overclocked so it didn't run as painfully slow as normal, but as it wasn't the fastest of smartphones, that was about all I could do on it. I've now got an iPhone 5 which is jailbroken with evasi0n7 running iOS 7.0.6 and it's so much nicer than the stock OS! You can change whatever you want with the appearance; here's what my current setup is like:
Lockscreen
(The wallpaper is animated depending on the weather. I need to fix the Forecast/DynamicText clash though)
Homescreen
Guest Mode
(Allows access to my phone to anyone, but disables certain apps)
Control Centre
Notifications
Calendar
(Ryan Petrich ported the iOS 7.1 calendar to 7.0.X)
As you can see, it's a little different than the stock OS, and that's only the tweaks that change the appearance. The main tweaks I have working behind the scenes are:
- Accelerate - Speeds up all the animations
- Activator - Perform actions based on what I do (e.g. three finger tap enables wifi)
- AdBlocker
- AirBlue Sharing - Send any file via bluetooth
- Barrel - Custom animation between page changes
- biteSMS - Adds a lot of features to the Messages app
- Chrome Downloader Plus - Adds the ability to download files in Chrome
- f.lux - Available for PC too: f.lux: software to make your life better
- Five Icon Dock
- Flex 2 - Modify apps
- Forecast - Animated lockscreen weather wallpaper
- Gregorian - iOS 7.1 calendar ported to 7.0.x
- Gridlock 2 - Put icons anywhere you want
- iFile - File manager
- MyWi 7 - Tethering app
- Nitrous - Faster Javascript engine
- Phantom - Removes the Snapchat timer and adds other features to it (my friends hate me for this one
)
- ProTube - Watch and download any YouTube video
- Remote Messages - I can login to my phone via my browser and send texts from my computer
You really can do anything you want to your phone :)
