I have a problem with these two updates to Windows 7 Professional.
Error Code: 80070490

KB3061518 -05/12/2015
KB3068708 -06/09/2015

Every other update besides these specific two I've been able to install.
I've tried the hotfix from a year ago which obviously came through with nothing.

Is there anymore information you guys may require besides the txt file?

Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named Aura. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Hi Dragonpyre :)

My name is Aura and I'll be assisting you under Go The Power's supervision (like he already explained). Since SFCFix reports errors with SURT, it would be a good idea to get a CheckSUR.log to see what these errors are. Follow the instructions below please.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Scan
Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log;
  • Download the right version of SURT for your system;
  • Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go through the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes);
  • On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log;
  • Attach this log in your next reply;

No worries it's alright :) We'll start by replacing the files reported by SURT. Follow the instructions below please.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Fix
Follow the instructions below to fix the errors reported by the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT);
  • Download the attached archive file, Packs.zip and save it on your Desktop;
  • Once it's downloaded, right-click on it and select Extract All...;
  • Check the Show extracted files when complete checkbox, and click on Extract;
  • On completion, a folder will open with two folders inside it, Manifests and Packages;
    • Copy and paste the files of the Manifests folder (if there are any) inside C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests
    • Copy and paste the files of the Packages folder (if there are any) inside C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\servicing\Packages
  • Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again;
  • On completion, attach the log located at C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log in your next reply;

The fix worked :) Can you try to reinstall the Windows Updates and see if it works this time?

No problem Dragonpyre, you're welcome :) If everything's working good and you don't have any issues, I'll be marking this thread as solved.
