I've been trying to update my windows, but it always fails at what looks like the installation step. I've tried the Windows update assistant, and the Media Creator and neither of them worked. Even installing the new windows 10 without keeping any of the apps or files just failed at a certain point. The error it keeps spitting up is (0x800700c1) and I've tried looking into it but everything seems to be recommending the same stuff I've tried, or the troubleshooter which doesn't even detect an issue.

Here are the files I'm supposed to provide. I hope things can be helped, thanks!

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Looks like things still aren't quite there yet. I still can't update (same error as before). Running the DISM command seemed fine until it hit 62.3% and just wouldn't go any further, even when I gave it some time.

Here's the new files you asked for. Glad to see someone is out there, thanks!

The previous fix failed, so please do the following only. And don't forget to remove the mark sign, because it will block the output in the command line window!
