Hello,
Recently I tried to install a driver for a Wacom drawing tablet and it proceeded to cause my computer to bluescreen constantly. I uninstalled the bad driver, but it seems that there are system files that have been corrupted. The computer is still bluescreening frequently and Windows Update no longer seems to work. I have tried to do an in-place Windows installation from USB and ISO but both bluescreen during the installation process. I have tried running SFC and DISM many times and in different contexts (safe mode, in the command prompt when booting from USB, etc.) but they have not been able to fix the corruption.

I'm hoping that this is repairable, but if I have to do a fresh install I understand.

Attached is the CBS folder and Component Scanner log.

In the intervening week I've managed to get a couple updates to install with windows update, but it is still frequently blue screening and now DISM ScanHealth and RestoreHealth cannot run to completion. They each crash with the message:

Error: 605

The specified buffer contains ill-formed data.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I am still able to run sfc /scannow, but it still just says that there are corrupted files that it is unable to repair.
I tried doing an in-place windows install again from ISO and using the media creation tool, but it continues to fail every time I try it.
I've attached the CBS folder as it stands now as well as the component scanner log after running that utility again.

After some more troubleshooting, it turned out to be a bad CPU. I replaced the CPU and was able to successfully run an in-place installation that fixed the corruption.
Feel free to remove this thread.

Thanks!
