Is there a work-around to make my old printer work with Windows 10?

My HP photosmart 7760 is not compatible with Windows 10, which I find disturbing but oh, well.

Is there some way to fool either my PC or printer into thinking that they are actually compatible?

This link is to download the Print and Scan Doctor, not the actual driver.
I was hoping you could force the xp_2000 version. You'll need to temporarily disable driver signing in Win 10.

How to Disable Driver Signature Verification on 64-Bit Windows 8 or 10 (So That You Can Install Unsigned Drivers)

Other than that you may be forced to buy an updated printer if SLeepyDude's suggestion doesn't work. Security vulnerabilities grow exponentially with old hardware and drivers and are why they eventually quit supporting them.

Using the universal print driver I was able to print ... gibberish.

Page after page of gibberish. One line per page regardless of what I send to the printer. Fortunately I have another printer that I can use. I was mainly wanting to use all the ink in the HP Photosmart before I took it to be recycled. But I've spent enough time on this project and really I should be helping my wife with housework rather than devoting more time this to futile task. (It briefly provided a good excuse not to do housework, but that can only work for so long.) Thanks to all who have contributed. In appreciation I will make a donation.

Try this Windows 7 driver here and after installation rick click the program and in admin mode run in compatibility mode for Windows 8 (even though it's technically a W7 driver according to notes it also covers Windows 8). I checked out the DL myself it's safe.
