Hi everyone,

Aside from above, which wasn't possible with earlier versions, can Task Scheduler (if it exists) be used as it was in XP/Vista/W7 for MSE in a similar way with the proper codes (whatever those are in W8) to overcome limitations in the actual program but do the same thing?

Thanks!

I would also like to thank you for this information. I recently figured this out on my own, but I wish I'd seen this thread to save me a little time. :-}

Maybe if someone decided that a Security Tutorial Forum would be just as useful as all the others, then someone might have written up a tutorial on it and it would have been easier to find - but I guess Security isn't important enough to warrant a Tutorial section (and my request for one was totally squashed {and I'd rather not get another public or private response/trashing on the rationale if it's the same as I heard before - so to the person who probably wants to respond to this as before - and you know who you are - please don't}, so since I'm a nobody with no say I just have to follow what those who rule the forum decide, and you have just seen and experienced a possible example of how it may have been helpful were it there and someone had chosen to do one on this - but alas).

Kosh - As mentioned in my PM, the administrators at Sysnative are in the process of discussing a way for users to create tutorials and have them developed privately and then reviewed by peers prior to those tutorials being made public. We will definitely take your concerns about a Security Tutorial section into consideration; at present, I see no reason why they would not be accepted at least for outlining how certain security tools can be used and settings available for those tools. I think that would be especially beneficial for antivirus programs like Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials as well as 3rd party antivirus software available.

Any other proposals for tutorials or tutorial sections you might have in mind can also be discussed. Please start a new thread in Site Suggestions & Trouble Reports for us to review other possible suggestions.
