Hello,

I've encountered a very unexpected BSOD on my Alienware 15 laptop, last night. The BSOD first occured when I tried to harmlessly restart my laptop. When I reach the login screen, i'm greeted with two different BSODs (one is more common than the other) The two BSOD's are:

1.IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (The common one)
2.Kernel_Security_Check_Failure

After a bit of research, these two errors happen to be related to Drivers and/or memory. I did update my Nvidia Graphic drivers just yesterday (25/08/2017) and I could successfully shut down and power my laptop in the morning (26/08/2017). I decided to restart my laptop the following evening, and I face these unexpected BSODs. My laptop restarts twice, crashes twice and I find myself in the recovery screen. Iv'e tried a few fixes which i'll gladly tell you, in order:

note:Before restarting, I had opened cmd and typed "netsh winsock reset" to try fix my slow internet

1. Tried to System Restore back 2 days, but was greeting with a "Appxstaging" error.
2. Went into safe mode (Everything was working fine).
3. Rolled back the drivers for my Graphics card (GTX 980M).
4. Used CCleaner to clean some cache and fix broken Registeries.
5. Conducted a Memtest (No problem was detected).
6. Go back into safe mode to rename WindowsApps to WindowsApps.old, to fix the System Restore.
7. Restore my PC to 16/08/2017 (Did not help).
8. While rebooting, it conducted a Startup Check/Repair (Did not help).
9. Did a System Restore to 24/08/2017 (This time from the Recovery Screen) (Did not help).
10. Reinstalled Windows (Keeping my personal files).

note: In between (in safe mode), I did take a peek and BlueScreenViewer (an application to view the Dump files for BSODs) and I noticed that the affected driver was ntoskrnl.exe.

After the reinstall, Windows booted up normally, and everything seemed to be back to normal. I downloaded Chrome, updated Steam, uninstalled Mcafee and went on with my things. I was prompted to restart my PC after uninstalling Mcafee to apply changes, and I did.. And the same problem came up all over again.

System Specs:

Alienware 15 R2
Windows 10 Home Edition
Intel Core i7 6700HQ - 2.6Ghz
16GB DDR4 @2133Mhz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 980M

The laptop is about a year old, and I made sure that I do not clutter it with junk/shady applications. I haven't downloaded a single torrent, or even installed any other program except for a few trusted utilities such as CCleaner, Malwarebytes, Avast, HWMonitor, etc. My laptop is not overheating in anyway, neither is it running slow/sluggish. Everything was just fine, until the restart. I'm kinda panicking and freaking out here.

Thank you so much for your time,

Hello,

Im so sorry I'm not sure how to upload a file, so I just did it the generic way. I managed to run the Sysnative App while on safe mode and got the result back, the zip file:

I hope it helps!
Thank you for your time

3/4 dumps are corrupted.

Please update the Killer wifi driver from Dell, also check for BIOS updates.

How can I fix the corrupted dump problem? Is there any other way I can give you the dump files? Also, apologies for being a noob, but how can I update while in safe mode? Do i just roll back the drivers, or download the update and transfer it in?

Thanks again

Alright, I added new files from the Minidump folder. Heres a few things I did before collecting the minidumps

1.I'd given Driver Verifier a go, following the instructions on your page
2.I unknowingly updated my Killer Ethernet Drivers through Device Manager
3.I did not update my BIOS yet, because i'm slightly skeptical about doing firmware updates, especially since I just did a fresh reinstall of Windows
4.In between, I was able to go past the login screen and use my PC normally, until I was greeting with a third BSOD (Probably because of the Driver Verifier), who's name I couldn't read in time (I believe it was something like "DRIVER_PAGE_something"
5. Not able to enter my PC without safe mode again.

In safe mode, I went over to Device manager and noticed the Killer Wifi adapter's status saying: "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37) The request is not supported."

Thanks for your time

Okay, after some thinking, I decided to disable the Killer Wireless-n/a/ac 1535 Wireless Network Adapter in Device manager, restarted and my PC was back to normal! I can normally restart my PC now. Now for the Wifi drivers to work again, how do I go about this issue and re-enable them without causing my computer any further grief?

Thank you!

You'll need to download the install package from Dell, if you have an ethernet cable you can use it to download the package.

You'll need 7zip to extract the install package.
After extraction,
- open device manager and go to the device,
- right click the device and choose 'update drivers'
- Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software'
- Click 'browse' and select the extracted folder.
- Select the folder 'Drivers'
- Make sure the 'include subfolders' option is checked
- Click 'next' and wait until the drivers are installed.
- Reboot your system.

After following that, I get the message: "The best driver software for your device is already installed - Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date"

I did download these drivers from the Dell support page, under Modem/Communications. The description of the file was "Dell Update Package: Killer Wireless AC 1535 Driver, 1.1.57.1245"

I figured I shouldn't enable the wifi driver yet. Should I uninstall and reinstall it? or should I download the drivers from the Killer Network website?
