Hi,

sorry if i bug you with this question:

i have two similar intel dx58so2 computers with windows 7 professional.

on one i found the IPBusEnum Root Enumerator in system devices starting about 2 minutes after bootup.
on the other machine this driver does not exist.

i would like to know, what this driver is used for, or which hardware or other installs it.
if someone could bring some more light into this, i would be very thankful.

cheers mike

Hi Dave,

thanks for your answer.
This link of yours is about PnP-X IP Bus Enumerator
But this is not the IPBusEnum Root Enumerator I mean.

If you look in the windows devices panel you find it under the folder
UMBus Root Enumerator (devices by connection)
Normally there is only the UMBusenumerator there.

But in one of my computers i find additionally
the IPBusEnum Root Enumerator.

If i look for the details, it's driver name is umbus.sys,
same driver like for the UMBusenumerator

I just want to know why one computer has this IPBusEnum Root Enumerator
and what device uses it, beeing activated about 2 minutes after booting up.

Thanks for your help anyway.

cheers mike
