Good news and bad news ...

Good news: Defender installed successfully. Well done !!! Big thanks to you! (Will perform the required restart this evening)

Bad news: The other server (DC) seems to have similiar problems + ghost language entries (no glue where they come from, it has allways been a single language machine)
See Screenshot.

I'm adding the cbs.log from this machine.

Hi,

Let's take a look at the Defender issue first, after that when can look at the language packs if they are causing issues.

Follow these instructions to remove an update.
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type the command CMD
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
Code:
wusa /uninstall /KB:4598243
  • Let me know if it says it was successful or you get the message: The update KB4598243 is not installed on this computer.

Perfect, here's the first fix to remove the remnants of this update.

Start the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool again.

Warning: This script was written specifically for this system. Do not run this script on another system.
  • Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  • Press the Fix button.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally.
  • When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Successfully installed! Thanks a lot, perfect job !!!
I will let you know after the reboot if everything is okay.
Should I worry about the language ghost reg entries?

Ofc i will donate for your help!

You're welcome. Glad to hear this issue has been resolved as well.

Please run the following command in an elevated prompt to look at the language packs.
Code:
DISM /online /get-intl > "%userprofile%\desktop\DISM-lang.txt"

... Thanks for your donation to Sysnative... (y)

This looks good, the German language pack is set as default with only en-us as fallback but is not fully installed. So I wouldn't worry about this!

Hi,
