If this alleged drug trafficking defendant ever hits the lottery, he should give a big chunk to his attorney for suggesting a bench trial instead of a jury trial, which very likely saved the defendant many years, if not decades, in an AUS prison.

I do believe that a jury would have found the defendant guilty. However, if defendant's attorney is as sharp as I think he is, upon jury conviction, it is likely that the defense attorney would have made a motion for a directed verdict based on the facts stated in the video, thus overturning the jury's guilty verdict. Who knows.

Various USA cases that I've read involving drugs sent through the US mail, FedEx, DHL, or other delivery services, the police usually do make a controlled delivery like in the AUS case, but with the actual drugs in the package, as intercepted - and not with a substitute non-drug substance.

Then after the controlled delivery is made, SWAT usually enters the dwelling with a no-knock warrant by sheer force and with police en masse - and makes the arrest(s).

The AUS defendant got the break of his life in this case.
