If you are old enough, you remember

What I remember most about the 1st moon landing, was the shots of the lunar module taking off from the moon's surface. I was kid at the time, and thought that things had gone wrong, when the top half took off, and the bottom half of it stayed on the surface.

It is one of those moments where you know exactly where you were, who else was there, and what you were doing.

I was a little kid at the time; we were on a family vacation at Howe Caverns, Schoharie County, New York.

It was our last night there as we were leaving for St. Pete Beach, Florida, the next day.
