IE 10′s ‘Do-Not-Track’ default dies quick death

I've never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the chandelier. But if I buy a car I do NOT expect to be tracked by gas stations, auto repair shops, tire manufacturers, drive-thru restaurants, etc, etc, etc. Why should it be any different with computers and browsers?

This is worth repeating here: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/showthread.php/1307-Tracking-the-trackers?

@marsmimar: here in the UK we probably are being tracked, or at least, recorded whilst doing those very things. Here's a BBC report from way back in 2006, 1 CCTV camera per 14 people, I doubt if that percentage has decreased!
Researchers highlight "dataveillance", the use of credit card, mobile phone and loyalty card information, and CCTV.

Monitoring of work rates, travel and telecommunications is also rising.

There are up to 4.2m CCTV cameras in Britain - about one for every 14 people.
