Hi desbest. :welcome:

It seems the cause is your Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter.
I think now there are problems with MS servers, hence I have problems using WinDbg.
I can't find a driver webpage for your adapter, and I can't check your manufacturer website because there are many HP pavilion 15 models.
What's the exact model?

You can try to disable/disconnect your Wi-Fi adapter and use the ethernet adapter to see if the problem persists...

It seems there are updates for your laptop/notebook: Software and driver results for HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p247sa (ENERGY STAR) (click)

I only checked the BIOS, the Broadcom driver seems to be older than yours (where did you update it?) and it seems HP is calling back batteries for some laptop models (yours is included): HP Notebook Computer Battery Safety Recall and Replacement Program (click)

I think you are able to check for yourself if you need to update other drivers listed in that webpage, but if you need help, ask again! ;)

I didn't check what version of the Broadcom driver I had and just installed the one off the website.
Should I update the BIOS?

HP wrote:
NOTE: HP strongly recommends transitioning promptly to this updated BIOS version which supersedes all previous releases.

In your manual:
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of damage to the computer or an unsuccessful installation, download and install a BIOS update only when the computer is connected to reliable external power using the AC adapter. Do not download or install a BIOS update while the computer is running on battery power, docked in an optional docking device, or connected to an optional power source. During the download and installation, follow these instructions:
Do not disconnect power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet.
Do not shut down the computer or initiate Sleep.
Do not insert, remove, connect, or disconnect any device, cable, or cord.

Although I suggest you to read the BIOS update instructions directly on your manual (i.e., download it and read it carefully).

I've refreshed my computer so now the blue screens are gone, but now the internet keeps on cutting off. I have the latest driver off the HP website.

I.e.:
- Did you use windows 8.1 refresh function? Or what?
- Are you using a wireless connection?
- Or does this happen with an ethernet connection?

I used the windows 8.1 refresh function. I am using a wireless connection, I have not tested it with the ethernet.

Hi,

you should open the Servicedoor, remove and clean carefully all pins from dust, reseat the module and try again.

Not to mention your Broadcom isn't the stablest Adapter and therefore HP removed that device in further productions.

The Servicemanual beginning at page 62 shows how to replace with a better one (Intel), use the Sparepartnumber to search for as its a branded adapter!

I still have the same problem with those drivers. HP has given me a newer driver not listed on my product page, so let's see if that helps.

Do you get the connection from the phone line wall jack -- phone line splitter -- rj11 cable -- modem/router? Or what?

When the internet disconnects, I have tried using the ethernet wire to access the internet. The ethernet wire is not recognised when looking at the network adapters. Windows does not recognise it as plugged in.

I uninstalled Kaspersky as when I installed it, internet explorer and google chrome failed to open. I had to send log files to Kaspersky HQ for them to debug this. Another forum said the culprit was Kaspersky. The forum was malwarebytes.
I've uninstalled vmware.
