Recently, my GTX 1050ti drivers stopped appearing in Device Manager along with literally the entire category of display adapters leaving me with only this. I've been trying to resolve the issue using youtube tutorials and other things but I can't. I tried installing things such as Geforce Experience, attempting to use multiple versions of it and it won't work. Not even Microsofts Display Adapter, so what should I do. Should I reinstall the OS or can I replace some files in the Windows folders? Any help is very much appreciated, thank you.

Hi!

What's your Windows 10 version?
I'm pretty sure that I'm on 1803 at the moment, it's Windows 10 Pro I believe. I'm currently away so I might give an update if that's incorrect. I've tried updating manually twice and it's failed on both occasions. I put windows to update to the newer version and left to school so I might give an update if that goes thru.

It won't if the hive is corrupt. If the OS version really is 1803, please do the following:

Step 1 - Replace Drivers Hive Manually

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  3. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  5. Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad.
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  6. Take the file from the Drivers folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

Okay so I checked and I'm currently actually on 1809.
