and the error is windows defender firewall can't change some of your settings. error code 0x800706d9, i have searched and did a lot of things none of them works, and i really don't want to reinstall the windows and delet and install every apps and things, plz help

No, I didn't have any until today that i installed malwarebytes temporarly... so when the problem emerged, there was no antiviros
i tried from both ways, none of them works, the funny thing is when i go to task manager via services tag "mpssvs" is switching on and off repeatdly, it's kind of blinking....
and it neither stops or resets, and also i have gone services.msc, i have done some of the things that i don't even rememeber...
i did what was said here "You are being redirected..." and also i tried sfc/scannow in cmd and netsh firewall set opmode mode=ENABLE exceptions=enable they don't work and i tried to uninstall some updates but there was a specific update which it couldn't been uninstalled and made an error while doing it so i resigned and updated again...
and also this thread "[SOLVED] - I cannot turn on windows firewall" i looked and did the things and also didn't work too...
i am really confused ... i hoped you could have help me...

and also i should say i used spyware and some apps to fix registery issues and they said everything is fine but if want i can run some scans via cmd as u say them...
the other thing is that my windows defender logo (shield) dos'nt apeear in the taskbar even though i turned it on via personalization/taskbar/select which [..] ....

Hi, Mahoor.

Let's see what is happening with Services.
  • Please download Farbar Service Scanner and save it on your Desktop. IMPORTANT.
  • Right click on the tool icon and run it as administrator.
  • Make sure all the options are checked.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) on your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste the log's content to your next reply.

Hi, Mahoor.

Windows Defender can run well with Malwarebytes, if you change a setting properly. When we finish here, you can install it again, if you want, and I will give you instructions to change that specific setting.

Now, let's fix the Windows Firewall and Windows Update services.

1. Restart in Safe mode
  • Press the Windows icon on the keyboard together with the letter I, to get into the Settings.
  • Choose Update and Security.
  • From the menu at the left, choose Recovery.
  • Under the title Advanced startup at the right, choose Restart now.
  • From the window that will appear choose Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.
  • Choose Startup Settings and then Restart.
  • Press number 5, for choosing Safe mode with networking.
  • You will know that you are in Safe mode, if the background is black and Safe mode is written at the four corners of the screen.

2. Restore Services

3. Run FSS again
  • Restart in normal mode, run FSS tool again, as you did before, and post the log created.
