I'm trying to repair an HP Pavilion DV6324us laptop. When I turn the power on the media LED lights will light up and I can hear the fan spinning for about 20 seconds before it automatically restarts. There is no display on the screen though and I've tried pushing all of the F1-12 buttons. Even connecting an external display did not let me see any display. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like it is not completing post.
It should have 2 sticks of ram installed, try removing one and see if it will boot, then swap the sticks and try again to boot.

Try unplugging the power remove the battery, press and hold the power button several times to remove all the residual power.
Then reinstall the battery and see if it boots.

When you plug in the power does the light come on to indicate it's charging?

Already tried a hard reset and get the same thing. Yes, the power light does indicate that the battery is charging when I turn it on.

Some notebooks allow you to run the notebook with the battery removed. If yours does, try that. If it runs, then it points to your battery being bad.
