How to prevent Windows 11 from installing on my PC

Microsoft is nudging me to switch to Windows 11. I have Windows 10 and I see no compelling reason to change. If history is any guide, every other Windows OS misses the mark and Windows 11 will probably be a dud. What is the best way to prevent Microsoft from overriding my wishes and installing Windows 11?
Thanks.

Is there no option named "Stay with Windows 10"? I would not recommend making any modifications to the registry since you're going to block later Windows 10 builds.

Another perspective? I have upgraded to Win 11 on various PC's at home and multiple at work and have had no issues. It took a day to get used to some of the changes but I'm loving Win 11.

That being said, I have 7 different machines with different hardware/software configs currently running Win 11. This doesn't compare to the millions of variables in the wild. There are so many variables (different hardware/software configs/malware-free or not) that I would be suspicious if some did not have problems.

Just saw this the other day. (y)
Thank you for that link. I did download the Microsoft program "Show or Hide Updates." However, upon a closer look, it didn't show Windows 11 as an update on my computer. Actually, it says under "Security and Updates" that my computer "meets the requirements for updating to Windows 11." And "Specific timing for when it will be offered can vary as we get it ready for you." So it looks like I jumped the gun on this but I'm afraid MS will download it without asking my permission. I bought and paid for my computer, but Microsoft thinks they own it! I did go to Advanced Options > Update Options and turned off “Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows.” I hadn't realized that was "On" and it could have given MS permission to go ahead and install Windows 11.

So I guess now I just have to keep a close watch to see if something comes up about installing Windows 11 and nix it at that time.

Thanks again for the tip.
