Hi,

does anybody know or like to share his knowledge how the hash on the end of an compont or versioned index is generated?

e.g.: amd64_microsoft-windows-d..ashared-candidateui_31bf3856ad364e35_none_d23dbc4bf152064b (versionedIndex)
or
amd64_microsoft-windows-d..ashared-candidateui_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.19041.3570_none_41f0a0c482537098 (component)

Thanks for any help

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

The highlighted part is not a hash value, it is just a randomly generated suffix of 16 characters.

Thanks for the fast reply.
But when randomly generated, why is it on every machine the same and how does the store know which component entry belongs to which versioned index?

It is randomly generated for specific components of an update package (*.msu), therefore it is the same on each system. The structure of the Windows registry is too complicated to explain in a few posts. This question is also going beyond the scope of the public forum to go in detail!
