How to download Skype for Mac? Help Pls!

I'm having a hard time downloading Skype on my laptop, It won't open after I downloaded it, I using a Macbook Pro and it seems like a different process or version of Skype should be used for it to work, I badly need skype cause I'm going on a vacation out of the country.

You may get help with all of your Skype for Mac questions at Skype Support. By the way, don't you like to download other apps aside from the latter? Perhaps, you will only need it for video chats and instant messaging.
 
I was thinking if you could inquire from them? Perhaps, they have an exclusive app that's compatible to your Macbook Pro. I hope that will help.
