Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) and Intel Security said this week that they will combine forces to boost protection of critical industrial infrastructure and the “Industrial Internet of Things” (IIoT). Under the partnership, the companies said Intel Security’s McAfee technologies will be integrated with Honeywell’s Industrial Cyber Security Solutions to help protect Honeywell customers from malware and malicious activity. Initially, Honeywell will utilize Intel Security’s Application Whitelisting with its own Experion Process Knowledge System to help maintain system integrity by allowing only authorized code to run. Additionally, Honeywell will tap Intel’s Device Control offerings to enable customers to specify and categorize what data can and cannot be transferred to various plug-in devices.
