Hi:wave:
Hoping you can help, I've found that after my system updated to windows 8.1 I'm unable to install a PDF printer (or any other printer)

I ran "sfc /scannow" and after it gave the following message "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log " I ran "findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" See attached file

If I'm reading the file correctly the main issue seems to be this line (which is what lead me to this site):
"Cannot repair member file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB" of prncacla.inf, Version = 6.3.9600.17415, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type = [l:24{12}]"driverUpdate", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch "

I've run SFCFix.exe & I've exported the CBS logs, If I've done this correctly they along with SFCdetail.txt should be attached.

Thanks for your time looking into my problemView attachment sfcdetails.txtView attachment SFCFix.txt

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

I am not seeing a recent SFC scan in the logs, could you please run the following for me?

SFC /SCANNOW
  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Command prompt (Admin) => Press Yes on the prompt
  3. Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  4. Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with rest of the steps.
Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt
  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Run => Inside the run box copy and paste the following command:
    Code:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  3. Press Enter
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt, please rename this file to CBS_{Insert forum username here}_{insert todays Date here}.txt For example "CBS_Go The Power_1803.txt"
  5. Please upload CBS_{Username}_{Date}.txt to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Thanks so much for looking into this I've attached the file above.
ScanNow Message_BlueTardis_1803.PNG

The message I received from running Scannow (above) was different this time around. it shows "windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"
Perhaps this means the AMD64 problem is solved:lol:, even though I just tried to install the PDF printer which failed:huh:. (no error message, nothing happens)

Please take a look at the cbs file and if this is the case then I will open a new thread asking for help with the PDF printer install, that is if such a request is okay within this forum.

Hi BlueTardis,

Sorry for the delay, I have just returned from my holidays.

The CBS log looks fine, what PDF printer are you trying to install?
