Half of all enterprises will have at least started their roll-outs of Windows 10 by January 2017, according to a Gartner report released Monday, suggesting the OS is on track for rapid adoption.
The prediction is based on significant interest that Gartner analyst Steve Kleynhans has seen during conversations with clients about their plans. While enterprises are known for taking their time with software updates, Kleynhans says they're moving fast with Windows 10.

I think what is really helping W10 this time around is, for the most part, big enterprises (and consumers in general) do NOT have to go through HUGE expenditures upgrading to new hardware that supports W10. Nor does W10 require much, if any, recoding of their programs or migration of their data. It just works. Plus, generally speaking, it never gets cheaper to wait so with this being the last version of Windows, investing in getting it over with now will be cheaper than waiting until later. It doss not hurt that, in general, the economy is doing much better too.
