Hi -
Firstly, I hope I am posting in the right forum. If not, I do apologize.
Computer: Asus ROG 751jy
So, about a month ago, my graphics card (GTX 980m) suddenly stopped working after a hard reset which was performed to try and address a battery issue. gs
I tried a ton of things to no avail. Finally, I re-installed the OEM graphics driver and suddenly the card came back online. I haven't had a problem since and was unable to pinpoint an exact issue.
However, earlier tonight, Adobe Photoshop kept failing at startup so I decided to restart the machine. After doing so, my external monitor (via displayport) was no longer receiving signal. I knew it was the same issue; it is, unfortunately.
So, as of now, the 980m is showing under device manager but is sending an error 43 under properties. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, disabling the device, uninstalling the device, etc. All to no avail, of course.
Based on the last time this occurred, I feel strongly that the issue is software related versus hardware.
I tried sfc / scannow and a few other options that resulted in no discernible possible causes.
Any help, guidance, or assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks so much, in advance.
Cheers.
