Hello, I got a quite weird problem with a green screen (hdmi) / black screen (dvi) not the problem itself thats quite easy to google but the whole 1/2/3/4 process listed below..

So I have read the some similiar thread that is just and yes that happend since like May coincidentally or not but...

The PC in general works all good its either while playing games or vids (it won't crash on first vid just after some time)

Sometimes the green/black screen will occur and pc just freezes that I have to hard shut down via holding power button without creating BSOD but after starting up again all is good for the time being.

The g/b screen first appears only after playing a game and gradually after every reset gets worse, freezes pc more often into g/b screen while just playing vids etc.

But what is weird about my problem is the thing that when i "change something" it works good until first shutdown of pc (normal shutdown by myself not a crash)

1) Thought its about hdmi port, bought new hdmi cable pc running stable for 10 hours~~ until shutdown, played games for about 3hours, ran multiple streams (twitch) ,youtube etc. everything works perfect until first shutdown. Next day booting up PC, boom game crashes (green screen) after 5mins, then crashes more frequently on vidoes

2) Changed connection between gpu and screen to DVI, everything works fine on a first start of the computer, same scenario as 1) streams/yt works in background, playing game for 3horus all good, first shutdown (once again normal one), next startup game crash 5mins, same story with vids.

3)Installed new drivers for gpu, same scenario as with 1/2 works fine, first shutdown, boom.

4)Updated mobo drivers/updated bios, same scenario as with 1/2/3 works fine, first shutdown, boom.

(the game is dota2 on very low settings so no issue for sure and well it green/black screens not in game sometimes)

The one bsod I had when I was running hdmi cable "thread stuck in device driver" and "video_tdr_timeout_detected (that happend just like once i believe)" prolly later too on dvis too.

GPU temp is fine while playing and normal use.

I have also ran DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow already

From the pc specs side all should be fine because the pc been running fine for about 4 years.

Im uploading event viewer criticals before last crash, last bsod (i struggle to find memory.dmp isnt neither in windows nor system32) and specs via speccy.

Looks like there is another update available for your graphics card, I would suggest that you install it - https://www.amd.com/en/support/grap...es/amd-radeon-r9-300-series/amd-radeon-r9-380

Downloading it right now. Just one small update.

I just noticed that I got some graphic issues while quickly stretching back and forth browser tab and I can snap pic like that.

Don't know if that changes anything? Think its not hardware issue if u can just printscreen it into paint? (The all on right from "X" is just stretched quickly and taken snapshot of the same tab that u see on left side of screen)

Then now there I'm freshly after uninstalling drivers and not installing new ones yet, however stupid it sounds I can stretch browser quickly back and forth without issue shortly after uninstalling the drivers.

Got those new drivers installed now will see how they will behave, for now I can just tell that I can stretch browser without issues lol.

For whatever reason it downloaded me 25.05 version tho on site release date says 10 june, but well thats not in ur power :p

Hey, ty9

The error THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER generally appears due to the outdated video card drivers but as you said updating the drivers and the other solutions won’t works for you.

Therefore here it is suggested to check if you have installed any program or game then uninstall it as this might be culprit.

Also try uninstalling the drivers and then install it reinstall the update AMD drivers.
