Confirming previous rumors, Google released Chrome Remote Desktop for Android earlier this week. This app gives owners of devices with Google's mobile OS a way to access their Windows and Mac files remotely.
The
official Google Chrome blog says that the Android app still requires that users
install and enable the Remote Desktop add-on for the Chrome web browser. After that, the blog states, "Next, simply launch the Android app on your phone or tablet, tap on the computer’s name and start using your remote machine as if you were sitting right in front of it." Google also plans to release an iOS Remote Desktop app for Chrome, but no specific date was announced.
