Getting BSOD at random times (probably CPU related)

Hey there,
I've been having problems with my PC for a while now.
I used to get all different kinds of BSOD that didn't lead to one specific component.
While testing out what could be wrong I built a whole new functional PC out of extra parts.
I replaces just about everything (only original parts in my pc are now the video card and case).
After upgrading the motherboard and CPU the bluescreens stopped for a few days.
Now I keep getting WHEA_uncorrectable_error bluescreens at random times.
Sometimes they show up on log in screen, other times I'll be using my pc for about an hour before a crash.
After looking at the dump files using the windows debugger tool it shows that Genuine_intel causes the problem.
It also shows an error code 124.
I thought this meant my I7 was bust (first gen, 860) so I got a new one.
After installing this new one I still have the exact same problem.
This made me think of a fault in my motherboard.
The asus site states that the cpu is supported.
I am now running an I3 530 in the same motherboard without any bluescreens.
Temps are looking good on the I7 with an idle of ~38C.
What could be causing this problem?

Extra info:
OS: windows 10 pro retail (fresh install)
CPU: I7 860
Video card: HD 7950
Memory: 2x4 gig corsair vengeance (memtested)
Motherboard: Asus P7P55D LE
Power supply: Cooler master silent pro m500 500W

Hello and welcome!

I'm very sorry to hear about your issues. I see that you are using two RAM sticks. Have you tried using only one and monitoring for crashes?

Have you tested each of the stick separately for eight passes? Have you tested the HDD/SSD?

Is the PSU new or the original one? Has it ever been replaced?

Are you doing any overclocking of your system?

Unfortunately, your latest dump was empty, so I couldn't analyze the dump file, but if/when it happens next time, please attach the dump, and I'll see if I can do something with it.

Thanks for the quick response!
The system has not been overclocked.
I've tested both sticks separately but also got new ram and had the same problem with that.
Same for only using one stick.
The PSU is about 2 months old.

I've also gotten a new SSD and tested with an old HDD I still had so that can't be the problem.
I'll upload the memory dump file that I recovered after my latest crash.
Hopefully that'll give more info.

I tried running the psu test but it bluescreened on me again.
Now when I start up it shows an BSOD after about a minute.
Could this indicate my psu is broken?
For this test I put my I7 back in the machine.
I'm now gonna try running it with the I3 installed.

I misunderstood.
I didn't look at the Temps while restarting after the crash.
The last indicated temp was 55 and 60 before it crashed.

I ran all the tests on the I3.
No problems at all.
But now the I7 won't even let me boot fully.
Right after the log in screen I get a BSOD.
So I'm unable to run any tests.
I haven't seen the bluescreens this quick before.
I also got a system_thread_exception_not_handled the first time.
Usually I only get WHEA_uncontrollable_error.

I haven't yet tried safe mode.
I just switched CPU again so I could get the dmp files.
I'll add them to this message.
The names of the files indicate when the crash happened.
Hopefully they'll help.

I had a quick look at the 0x124, they all report unknown errors on different cores. This could typically indicate a bad CPU or socket, but in your case it's different.

I also had a look at the support page of the ASUS P7P55D LE motherboard and noticed that Windows 10 is not officially supported which could be a factor in your issue.
Do you have installation media of a different Windows version for testing?
