Game won't open on W8.1

Hello, everyone! I don't know if you'll remember this game but i installed Red Alert 2 and it won't start. Everytime i click game, nothing happens. I've already tried to change the compability mode, color mode, screen resolution but nothing works. I also installed the game expansion here (RA2 Yuri's Revenge) but there's something that is annoying me. When i open the game, there are black borders from both sides. Any idea of how can fix this? Thanks

I'll try that. Had to uninstall it but i'll reinstall it and hope it works.

I can't even install it now. I click setup but nothing happens

Download the setup file again - get a fresh copy.

Be sure to RIGHT-click on it (setup.exe or whatever it is called), select "Run as Administrator"

When you say that "nothing happens", what do you mean exactly? Is there no error message or info?

Check the application log in Event Viewer - see if there is any info about the attempted installation.

It means nothing happens at all, no error message, no info, nothing...
Tried to run as admin but it also didn't work

Well, couldn't find a solution so i decided to install a virtual machine and install the game in there. Thanks everyone :)
