[SOLVED] Folder have "File folder" ("Pasta de ficheiros") written below their name on File Explorer

Hi! Welcome to Sysnative!

I was going to suggest this but it seems you already tried it.

Have you implemented any tweaks or used any apps or 3rd party programs that may have changed it?

Any theme changes?

When did you first notice it?

Do you have a valid restore point you can go to before it changed?

Hi! Thanks!

Yes, but I didn't have this problem until yesterday and I don't implement any tweaks for some time.

No, I didn't change the temes.

Hit start, type winver and hit enter please. Please post what version you are on.

What about a restore point to before yesterday?

Sorry, I forgot to say that unfortunately I don't have any restore points left. Like I said in another thread, I'm unable to update. I'm on Version 1909 Build 18363.720.

Pay particular attention to the first section regarding Windows Updates. Check to see if anything installed via Windows Update that's right around the time this began to happen. If so, roll it back.

I could swear I recall having seen this before, long, long ago but cannot recall anything more specific for the life of me and I can't find any magic web search terms that turn anything up.

I suspect this is something related to one of the most recent Windows Updates, probably the last optional cumulative update (KB4541335) if it's been applied.

I agree with @x BlueRobot that this is very likely the new normal. When I saw this post initially it rang bells because I seem to remember a time when this sort of light grey "folder type" identification was routinely shown. Why heaven only knows, as the icon itself tells you that already. I know that if it shows up on my system I'll just keep going merrily along, provided there are no misbehaviors of any sort. It's a trivial change that just doesn't matter to me.

I looked all over and could not find that in the change list but I suspected this as well. I'm sure there is a simple registry tweak somewhere.

No, I didn't install anything around the time this began to happen. But I only had this problem until recently. I'm having it long after having installed a CU so I don't think a CU or another update caused it.

If Brian's advice doesn't help, consider posting here. We some very good Windows Update expert technicians here.

I already posted it there. You can see it here.

Like I said, it showed up out of nothing and I couldn't even install that update and the next CU.

If so it's weird that I'm the only one having it.

I have been saying, for decades, that the change list is not comprehensive, just highlights. That's also one of the reasons I tell people to apply updates, as there are all sorts of things included in many of them that are not included in the change list (and just because the first thing you'll be asked when seeking support is, "Are you up to date on all operating system updates?," and if the answer is, "No," "Then apply them and if they don't fix the issue get back in touch," is the answer.)

Could you help me here?

No, I cannot, as the Windows Update forum has specific staff, of which I'm not a part.

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea why this particular thing upsets you so much. If everything else is working just fine, then ignore it. It's not like you don't see the folder name itself. The File Folder sub-label is just "background noise."

That seems the old windows 7 and/or vista styles.
I can't reproduce it in windows 10.
Could it be you installed an old software, or a software that modify the windows theme?
Examples: all shells software (classic shell and so forth).
Or maybe you installed an old windows theme...

I don't think so. This happened out of nowhere.
