Hi everyone!

I'm writing here after what seems to be flipping every rock I know how to flip online searching for answers. For the past few weeks, I have been getting weird error messages when turning on my PC. The errors are always 0xc0000020 and 0xc000012f, and they come up in a lot of different message boxes referencing different system32 dlls. I tried a few simple fixes (will list everything down below) and nothing seems to help - but all functionality still works, I only use this computer during weekends and there isn't any sensitive information on it, so I didn't give this too much attention until recently. Yesterday I checked my windows version and found out I didn't update for a while, and when trying to update, the update is installing, reaching 100% and then throwing this error: 0x80071160.

Things I tried so far (some are trivial but worth mentioning):
- Reboot (several times)
- Trying to update without any other program open
- Reinstalling visual C++
- Activating the administrator acount and trying to use it for updating
- Running the following script (and then trying to update):
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old2
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old2
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver

None of those fixes seemed to work. While I don't understand their meaning, I ran some diagnostic tools that are worth noting here.
- DISM stopped after 69% with error 4448. I've attached the log.
- I ran SFCFix, twice. For the first time, it stopped after using DISM reported it's error (the same as above), then I pressed a key and it showed the final log. It was weird to me that I had to interact with SFCFix before seeing any sort of "I'm done" message, so I ran it again, and thinking it's going to take a while I walked away from the PC. I came back to a successful log (that unfortunately overwrote the previous one), and the updates still aren't working. The second log is attached here.

Thank you so much for your time and knowledge!
Any ideas what to do next?

Forgot to mention my Windows version is 1903, and the updates my device is trying to install are all the updates leading to but not including version 2004.

Hi!

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.
