PLEASE HELP

I have Windows 7 Professional installed. I have IE9 currently installed.

Windows 7 was Ghost imaged to the laptop and I am unable to install IE11. I have tried both the offline installer (EIE11_EN-US_WOL_WIN7.EXE downloaded directly from the Microsoft Website), and I have tried updating to IE11 from the Windows Updates, updated everything except for IE11 and failed with error code 9c59.

I ran SFC /SCANNOW and completed with no integrity Violations

I ran the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and attached the CBS.log including CheckSUR.log, CheckSUR.persist.log, FilterList.log, 3 CBSPersist .cab files. The link for this is here: SalesMgrBT

Hi @lkmyers1,

Do you still need assistance with this issue?

If so please profile the following files:

Retrieve the Components Hive
  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file
  2. Please copy the COMPONENTS file to your desktop
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again
  3. Right-click on this file on your Desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your Desktop
  4. If file will is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or upload to www.sendspace.com and just provide the link for the file here

Export Registry keys (SBS)
  • download the script ExportSbSRegistry.cmd and save it to the Desktop
  • right-click the file ExportSbSRegistry.cmd and select Run as administrator
  • when the script ends a new file called SoftwareSBS.zip will be located on the Desktop
  • If zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here

Export Registry Hive (CBS)
  • download the script ExportCBSRegistry2.cmd and save it to the Desktop
  • right-click the file ExportCBSRegistry2.cmd and select Run as administrator
  • when the script ends a new file called SoftwareCBS.zip will be located on the Desktop
  • If the zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or upload to www.sendspace.com and just provide the link for the file here

Hi,

Thanks for the log. Can you try to install Internet Explorer 11 now.

Please post the CBS.log and also try to locate the log IE11_main.log inside the Windows folder.

Hi,

Thanks for the logs. Lets reinstall one update...

Install Update using Dism
  1. Please download KB2925418 https://download.microsoft.com/down...FDD-0106478E755E/Windows6.1-KB2925418-x86.msu save the file to c:\windows\temp
  2. change the name of the update file to a smaller name Windows6.1-KB2925418-x86.msu
(keep the extension .msu in the end of the file name in case its visible if not ignore that)
  3. open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  4. type or Copy & Paste the following commands line by line:

    cd /d c:\windows\temp
    expand Windows6.1-KB2925418-x86.msu -f:* C:\windows\temp
    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Windows6.1-KB2925418-x86.cab
  5. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)?
  6. Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

If you receive any other message:
  7. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  8. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.

If Dism finish successfully try to install IE 11, if it fails collect the CBS.log and also the IE11_main.log
