My CBS.zip file can be accessed via this link through WeTransfer: WeTransfer
I've also attached the SFCFix.txt log file after running it. I've done all the steps on your Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions page.
The problem is that KB4467240 keeps failing to install. It’s the 2018-11 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1., ..., 4.7.2 for Windows 7... Also, the 10/18 version (KB4459922), 9/18 version (KB4457918, 8/18 version (KB4345590), 7/18 version (KB4340556), 5/18 version (KB4099633), and probably many others before that all have failed to install as well.
As a result, even though I have .NET Framework v.4.7.2 for Windows 7 64 bit installed on my desktop computer (the only version of .NET Framework that is installed), I can’t update Microsoft’s Mouse & Keyboard Center to v.11.1 for 64 bit, I think because it “uses .NET Framework to connect to the server to download information for the product.” The error message I get when trying to install it is “Setup cannot install this software because your computer does not meet the system requirements.”
I have tried to solve the problem of installing the Mouse & Keyboard Center software by following all but one of the steps on Microsoft’s support page, “Troubleshoot installing Intellipoint, Intellitype, or LifeCam software,” which, despite the title, seems to apply to this software too. Specifically, I’ve made sure I have the latest version of the software from Microsoft’s site, that Windows Installer service is set to Automatic, I have the latest version (5.0) of Windows Installer, and I’ve tried a clean startup with clearing the Temp folder just before installation, with all programs closed.
The only step I didn't try is uninstalling my current version of the Mouse & Keyboard software before trying to install the new version, for fear of losing it altogether.
I’d appreciate any help you could give with updating .NET Framework 4.7.2, or anything else you think might be causing this problem.
Thanks,
Dennis Emberling
