Hello Everyone,

I am having issues with my windows when booting up. Some of my start-up processes are exiting at the same time (skype desktop is one example). I've tried to get help in another forum to no avail... They've asked me to check the reliability monitor, and I find this at every reboot:

Also, I'd really like to point out that there is a multitude of daily failed updates coming from Bing * modules... Health, food, travel, music etc. At least once every day of the report.

I'm not sure if it is normal but while watching the graph, the screen kept reloading every couple seconds... It made it very hard to read. It does the same thing on windows explorer, it makes it a pain to find picture in a big folder as the window is always scrolled up and thumbs regenerated. It also cancels a file rename underway...

I'm adding an sfc scan that I just ran using the microsoft guides, if it can be of help.

Thank you for your help.

I'm sorry to hear of all your issues! In addition to the information you supplied, it would be helpful to know what version of Windows this is. Also, how long has this been happening and can you think of anything that might have happened immediate preceding these issues?

Thanks!

Hello James,

My version is Windows 8.1 Professional 64bit edition.
It has been at least 2 months since I'm having this issue. I have made nothing of it as I rarely reboot and it was almost unnoticeable. It became a nuisance over time as I often use the remote access that I need to remember starting up every reboot and all this sort of stuff...

The only thing that I can see causing this is a windows update or Nvidia driver update as I almost never change the softwares installed on my PC, it is mainly used for work. Please note that I use a VirtualBox, which has been used for over a year but it does some things with drivers so I don't know if it could interfere...

Thank you for your time and help.

Thanks for the extra details. I am not as deep into troubleshooting as some of the others here at Sysnative, so I may wait out someone else jumping in here. Let me ask: is a complete reinstall (or restore) out of the picture? I know it is always a last resort, but it looks to me like the corruption/issues go pretty deep.

If the only thing to do is a reinstall, I'll do it, but I would love to stay out of this scenario.

Hi Everyone,

I am still trying to figure out where the problem is coming from... I am wondering if a "windows refresh" could do the trick maybe? I am unsure what it does though. Will I keep all the softwares and drivers installed if I do this?

Hello again,

This should fix them up.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

THank you for your help!

Thank you for sticking with me Go The Power,

I have tried to follow the steps to create the StackTrace, but the WPR gives an error "No profile chosen" after the reboot. Note that when I start the test, it shuts down the PC, it does not reboot, I need to boot manually after.

Hello Go The Power,

It has worked now... Can't remember which option I didn't check correctly. I did not have the possibility to check "First Triage Level" as it was not in the list... The files are currently uploading to my Google Drive, It's about 2,5Go total in size so it might take some time. Here's the link to the folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Mn3wUgfbSAMERYUnJwZ1VsQk0&authuser=0

Thank you again for your time and help.
