[SOLVED] explorer.exe commonly crashing

A variety of actions cause explorer.exe to crash and restart. Some examples:

-Right clicking taskbar and opening settings (settings doesn't open)
-Opening start menu and clicking settings or change account settings (settings opens)
-Opening cortana (cortana crashes)
-Typing anything into the run menu (opening the run menu is fine)

What I've tried to do that didn't fix the problem:
-Restart computer
-Disable all third party shell extensions with shellexview
-Run Avira scan
-Run Malwarebytes scan
-Run CCleaner
-Reinstall different stable graphics drivers (gtx 660)
-Attempted to reset windows 10 with USB (couldn't complete reset for some reason)
-sfc /scannow fixed some registry errors and nothing changed

Important info:
-I did have classic shell installed, my guess is it didn't uninstall properly.
-My mlang.dll might be corrupted

Haven't found anyone online who had quite the same problem. I might solve the problem myself, I'll post the solution if I do. Any other help is appreciated!

One error kept leading to another kept leading to another. I figure the issue involved multiple corrupt system files or registries but I'm not sure. Bit the bullet and reinstalled windows 10 with a USB. I don't think there was another solution, but it's fixed so who cares.

Thanks for letting us know.

If the desktop goes back to is "disappearing" tricks, let us know, and we'll see what's up. Hope it "just works" from now on ...
