Hi, since a couple of months (don't know exactly when), my windows update stopped working (returning 80073712 error code) and I just don't like when something isn't working correctly on my computer so here I am, I need your help.

So far I have tried many possibilties, Checksur, sfc,WindowsUpdateAgent and nothing solved it. In my CBS.log, I've plenty of ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT (OpenCanonicalDataKey) errors and in my registry HKLM\COMPONENTS is shown but it was empty until I try and add the base key (CanonicalData,DerivedData) but still, alot, like couple of hundreds I guess, keys are missing. Now I wonder how to rebuild COMPONENTS hive, I believe it isn't as simple as copy-pasting it from another computer.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

The only way to rebuild it as such is to repair install the OS.
Do you have any System Restore points you can revert to?
Do you know how long you've had the problem?

Well I don't have restore points old enough since the virus that corrupted the components store had disabled system restore as well.
But whatever, I asked a friend to send me his COMPONENTS hive and loaded it on my computer, now Windows Update finds updates, I have even been able to install 3 updates but there are 8 lefts that doesn't download and return 80073712 error code.
Now when I run Checksur it finds a huge amount of errors (CSI Manifest Missing).

What should I do now?

I would but I can't do it since I have Arium 7 (registered, genuine) and the installer doesn't have the upgrade option.

Do you think that if I copy all the missing manifest from another computer to my winsxs folder, it could fix it?

Arium 7 appears to be a hack with self-activation properties.

we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

The installed OS is counterfeit.
The motherboard is a retail one - but has an apparent ASUS SLIC table, and an ASUS OEM_SLP Key.
SLIC tables cannot exist on Retail motherboards.

Due to forum rules we cannot assist until you have a legitimate installation, except to aid in that process.

You need to reformat and reinstall using legitimate media and Key.
