Since its seems to be something to do with amd64 i should probably tell you that laptops screen is smashed:smile9: There is big "web" across the screen but it still try to show something. Im curently using it with pc monitor. Dont know if it got anything to do with error code situation but thought to let you know.

Nope - it's simply an indicator that the file is a 64-bit based part of Windows.

I've uploaded a file - kknaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder kknaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Manifests)

Copy the content of the Manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file,

So i tried to update windows and no result so far. It tries to install service pack1 and got up to 20% and failed again. Same error code 80073701

OK - run CheckSUR again and post the new log
Also, run an SFC scan...

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload the CBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply

I'll post a fix when I can - probably tomorrow morning (my time!)

I've uploaded a file - knnab.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\knnab
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\knnab
or
DIR E:\knnab

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\knnab <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

Good morning Noel and thank you for dealing with my problems on Sunday.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt

At the prompt type
DIR C:\knnab
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\knnab
or
DIR E:\knnab

From these options the last one responded with "the device is not ready" other ones was "not found"
Tried to go ahead anyway and typed XCOPY E:\wfire E:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h
Answer was "invalid drive specification 0 files copied"

What went wrong?

How many partitions are there on your drive?
Are you using UEFI boot?
What are your normal drive letters within Windows?

I did some self education and here is what i learned - IBS Callback_BootEnvironmentDetect: Detected boot environment: BIOS

Does it mean that i dont use UEFI boot or am i way off? :smile9:

Nope. Still cant install Service Pack 1. All the other updates seems to work.
Accept i noticed that "AsusWsService.exe stopped working" appears upon starting up the computer.

OK - please post the new CBS.log, the latest CBSPersist cab file and the windowsupdate.log file - I'll see if anything jumps out at me.

Ok, here is what i got.

Im not allowed to open cbs.log and sfcdetails.txt appears empty on desktop.

Get error message from this web site when try to upload CBSPersist cab file. It seems to upload it when unzipped but doesnt show it in attachments, is 107 MB too large?

Are you getting as frustrated as me yet?
