[SOLVED] Error Code 80073701 when installing update KB4489878 on Win 7 x64 SP1

I am getting error Code 80073701 when installing KB4471318 on Win 7 x64 SP1 while trying to update through Windows Update.
I've tried several ways to resolve it but all unsuccessful.
I hope I find here a solution.

My actions here.

Step #2 - Run SFC Scan
sfc /scannow
Result:

Step #3 – SURT/DISM Scan

Step #4 - Run SFCFix

Install Update using Dism
  1. Please download KB4480970 http://download.windowsupdate.com/c..._a97919028931dcf220036af7c582a37f83f0d819.msu save the file to c:\windows\temp
  2. change the name of the update file to a smaller name windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.msu
    (keep the extension .msu in the end of the file name in case its visible if not ignore that)
  3. open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  4. type or Copy & Paste the following commands line by line:

    cd /d c:\windows\temp
    expand windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.msu -f:* C:\windows\temp
    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.cab
  5. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
    Restart Windows to complete this operation.
    Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)?
  6. Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

    If you receive any other message:
  7. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  8. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.

Force Windows to search for updates and try to install only one of them, if it fails please report the KB number and the error code also collect the new CBS.log.

Thanks a lot!

Windows update search found the update KB4489878 only (the update I had trouble with).
The update KB4489878 was installed successfully.

But...
After restarting Windows I forced the OS to search for updates again and nothing was found.
Is it normal?
I think the April updates have to be found.

What should I do next?
Start another thread?
Or continue with this one?
Run some diagnostic tools?
Upload the logs?

Hi,

No, KB4493448 is not installed.

I attached the full list of installed updates (Installed_Updates.txt)

BTW, 14/15 of May are today and tomorrow.
I suggest to wait a couple of days and then we'll see whether Windows Update will find updates of May.

I searched Windows Update Center for new updates and it found 3 updates of May,
one of them - KB4499164 Cumulative Monthly Security Update!

I successfully installed all three updates.

Then I saw your new post and ran Windows Update Troubleshooter.

It looks good. The most recent updates installed ok so I think its fixed.
